Starting with the basics, silicon, when exposed to sunlight, creates an electric charge. This discovery made its way to the development of solar cells. These cells on your solar panels absorb solar energy. The cells then collect that energy and turn it into direct current (DC) electricity. The DC electricity is passed through a device called an inverter to convert it to the alternating current (AC).

The technological advancements over the years have brought us three main approaches to solar inverters. 1. String inverters 2. Micro-inverters 3. Power optimizers

No matter the type of inverter you choose, the most common location for the installation of solar PV panels is the roof. The roofs, more often than not comply with the desired specifications for the installation, so that panels get the maximum sunlight. However, if the installation on the roof is not applicable, the solar panels could also be mounted on the ground. But in such a case, you need to ensure that- no objects block access to the sun.

Gauging your need and site visit:

Before the installation takes place, a solar engineer will come to your home and will ask you or consult on the following things:

* Where will the system be placed (on the roof, on the ground).

* How big will the system need to be to satisfy your energy needs?

* Will you be connected to the grid or not connected to the grid.

* How can you optimize the safety and functionality of the system once installed?

Once done with this, our solar engineer will recommend you the best solar system for your residential needs. Based on your preference for installation, the engineer will do the site inspection.

Installation and monitoring:

Hiring a professional team for installation is imperative; because these individuals are well-versed in solar energy. Getting the best ones hired will maximize your ROI; as they know what positioning of panels is correct. If you choose to install a solar system with a power optimizer then, you get an upper hand of monitoring your panels on the remote level. Your solar system transmits its performance data to a monitoring service that you can access online or with a mobile device. This way, you get full visibility of system performance, and remote, module-level troubleshooting.
